We Released a New VS Code Extension, "Agent Idle Notifier"
We have released a VS Code extension that sends desktop notifications when Claude Code finishes a task, waits for your input, or requests permission.
Global Step Inc. is pleased to announce the release of a new VS Code extension, "Agent Idle Notifier," on the Visual Studio Marketplace.
Agent Idle Notifier sends OS-native desktop notifications when the AI coding agent "Claude Code" finishes a task, waits for your input, or requests permission — so you can work in another window without constantly checking VS Code.
Key Features
- Native desktop notifications (Windows toast, macOS notifications, Linux notify-send) when a task completes, input is needed, or permission is requested
- Works with Remote-SSH, WSL, and dev containers — notifications reach your local machine wherever the agent runs
- One-command setup from the Command Palette
- Lightweight, file-watching design with no servers and no telemetry
- Configurable notifications and an optional status-bar indicator
How to Get It
